It was formed in the village of Shaw in Wiltshire in 1982. Shaw Trust has been a registered charity since 1982, and is one of the country's largest third-sector providers of employment services for people with a disability or at disadvantage. The charity employs nearly 1,600 people at over 200 locations. They are supported by over 600 volunteers and deliver contracts for major funding agencies including the European Social Fund, the Department for Work and Pensions and the Big Lottery Fund. reference
