Answer» What is International Indian School Dammam mean? International Indian School Dammam or IISD (formerly Indian Embassy School Dammam) is an English-medium K-12 Indian school in Saudi Arabia led by Mrs Mahenaz Fareed and the largest school in the MENA region by number of students. Most of its 18000+ students come from in and around Ad-Dammam, Al-Khobar and a few from Ras tanura. It was established in 1982 with 250 students and 15 teachers in a few portacabins and inaugurated by the then Indian Prime Minister Indira Gandhi. In 2006, it was divided into two separate buildings having separate campus for the girls and the boys spread at 9.8 acres for both the campuses taken together Today the strength is 14,160 students, above 650 teachers, 30 administrative staff apart from a fleet of 65 buses on hire from private company and 67 janitorial staff on hire from the local contractor. It is affiliated to the Central Board of Secondary Education and has all the three streams – Arts, Science and Commerce.
