Answer» What is Alternator mean? An alternator is an electrical generator that converts mechanical energy to electrical energy in the form of alternating current. For reasons of cost and simplicity, most alternators use a rotating magnetic field with a stationary armature. Occasionally, a linear alternator or a rotating armature with a stationary magnetic field is used. In principle, any AC electrical generator can be called an alternator, but usually the term refers to small rotating machines driven by automotive and other internal combustion engines. An alternator that uses a permanent magnet for its magnetic field is called a magneto. Alternators in power stations driven by steam turbines are called turbo-alternators. Large 50 or 60 Hz three-phase alternators in power plants generate most of the world's electric power, which is distributed by electric power grids. reference nan |

AUCT meaning in General ? |
|
Answer» What is Auction mean? An auction is usually a process of buying and selling goods or services by offering them up for bid, taking bids, and then selling the item to the highest bidder or buying the item from the lowest bidder. Some exceptions to this definition exist and are described in the section about different types. The branch of economic theory dealing with auction types and participants' behavior in auctions is called auction theory. The open ascending price auction is arguably the most common form of auction in use throughout history. Participants bid openly against one another, with each subsequent bid required to be higher than the previous bid. An auctioneer may announce prices, bidders may call out their bids themselves or have a proxy call out a bid on their behalf, or bids may be submitted electronically with the highest current bid publicly displayed. Auctions were and are applied for trade in diverse contexts. These contexts are antiques, paintings, rare collectibles, expensive wines, commodities, livestock, radio spectrum, used cars, online advertising, even emission trading and many more. reference |

Answer» What is Asian Journal of Biomedical and Pharmaceutical Sciences mean? Allied Academies (also known as Allied Business Academies) is a reportedly fraudulent corporation chartered under the laws of North Carolina. Its postal address is in London, United Kingdom. It presents itself as an association of scholars, with supporting and encouraging research and the sharing and exchange of knowledge as its stated aims. The organization consists of 30 affiliate academies, which provide awards to academics and publish academic journals both online and in hard copy for members. Since 2015 the organization has been listed on Jeffrey Beall's list of "potential, possible, or probable predatory scholarly open-access publishers". It is in a partnership with OMICS Publishing Group which uses its website and logo. In 2018, OMICS owner Srinubabu Gedela declared that he had informed the Nevada court that Allied Academies was a subsidiary of OMICS International. Answer» What is End Human Trafficking Now mean? The End Human Trafficking Now (EHTN) campaign was founded in 2006 in an attempt at uniting the business world in combatting human trafficking and modern slavery. The campaign grew out of the “Roundtable of the Business Community against Human Trafficking”, a meeting held on 23 January 2006 in Athens, Greece, and organized under the auspices of the Greek Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The aim was to bring together business leaders and CEOs from the private sector, representatives of non-governmental organizations (NGOs), international organizations, and governments to share their expertise, find a common stance, and develop measures to counter human trafficking. The meeting was cosponsored by prominent international organizations in the fight against human trafficking: the International Organization for Migration (IOM), the United Nations Development Fund for Women (UNIFEM), the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC), the World Bank and the Geneva Centre for the Democratic Control of Armed Forces (DCAF). Notable attendants included Queen Sylvia of Sweden, Queen Sabika of Bahrain, former UN Secretary General Boutros Boutros-Ghali, Interpol Secretary General Ronald Noble and French composer Jean Michel Jarre. From the gathering emerged a set of ethical principles against human trafficking, which became known as the Athens Ethical Principles. All signatories declare zero tolerance for dealing with businesses which benefit from human trafficking and promise to Explicitly demonstrate the position of zero tolerance towards trafficking in human beings, especially women and children for sexual exploitation.Contribute to prevention of trafficking in human beings including awareness-raising campaigns and education.Develop a corporate strategy for an anti-trafficking policy which will permeate all our activities.Ensure that our personnel fully comply with our anti-trafficking policy.Encourage business partners, including suppliers, to apply ethical principles against human trafficking. In an effort to increase enforcement it is necessary to call on governments to initiate a process of revision of laws and regulations that are directly or indirectly related to enhancing anti-trafficking policies.Report and share information on best practices. The first company to sign up to the principles was Manpower Inc., whose president of corporate affairs and government affairs is also the president of the board of EHTN. As of 2012, over 12,500 corporations have signed the Principles. reference nan |

Answer» What is Ford Piquette Avenue Plant mean? The Ford Piquette Avenue Plant is a former factory located within the Milwaukee Junction area of Detroit, Michigan, in the United States. Built in 1904, it was the second center of automobile production for the Ford Motor Company, after the Ford Mack Avenue Plant. At the Piquette Avenue Plant, the company created and first produced the Ford Model T, the car credited with initiating the mass use of automobiles in the United States. Prior to the Model T, several other car models were assembled at the factory. Early experiments using a moving assembly line to make cars were also conducted there. It was also the first factory where more than 100 cars were assembled in one day. While it was headquartered at the Piquette Avenue Plant, Ford Motor Company became the biggest U.S.-based automaker, and it would remain so until the mid-1920s. The factory was used by the company until 1910, when its car production activity was relocated to the new, bigger Highland Park Ford Plant. Studebaker bought the factory in 1911, using it to assemble cars until 1933. The building was sold in 1936, going through a series of owners for the rest of the 20th century before becoming a museum in 2001. The Piquette Avenue Plant is the oldest purpose-built automotive factory building open to the public. The museum, which was visited by over 31,000 people in 2018, has exhibits that primarily focus on the beginning of the United States automotive industry. The building was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 2002, became a Michigan State Historic Site in 2003, and was designated a National Historic Landmark in 2006. reference nan |
