It is the second largest municipality in the state of Minas Gerais after the state capital Belo Horizonte. Its population in 2020 was 699,097, making it the fourth largest city of the interior region of Brazil. The city is located on the Brazilian Highlands 2,802 feet (854 m) above sea level. The Stourbridge Line (reporting mark DLS) is a shortline railroad that operates 25 miles (40 km) of former Erie Lackawanna Railroad between Honesdale and Lackawaxen, Pennsylvania where it connects with Norfolk Southern Railway. Pelotas (Portuguese pronunciation: [peˈlɔtɐs]) is a Brazilian city and municipality (município), the third most populous in the southern state of Rio Grande do Sul. It is located 270 km (168 mi) from Porto Alegre, the state's capital city, and 130 km (80.8 mi) from the Uruguayan border. Macapá (Portuguese pronunciation: [makaˈpa]) is a city in Brazil with a population of 493,634 (2018 estimation). It is the capital of Amapá state in the country's North Region.
