Victoria is a city and commune in Malleco Province of La Araucanía Region, Chile. The United States Digital Service is an elite technology unit housed within the Executive Office of the President of the United States. It provides consultation services to federal agencies on information technology. It seeks to improve and simplify digital service, and to improve federal websites. It was launched on August 11, 2014.

Not reported in the media at the time because it was not then yet publicly known, the founding date of August 2014 was urgently rushed due to the months-old revelation within to the Obama administration of the 22+ million records hack of the Office of Personnel Management. The first of two such hacks was discovered on 20 March 2014, the second occurring on 7 May 2014 not being discovered until 15 April 2015, no doubt directly leading to the 10 July 2015 resignation of the Obama political appointee Katherine Archuleta, head of OPM.

The hacks were known to have been perpetrated by agents of the Chinese government motivated by its one-party state–enabled consolidation of power then enmeshed in the early throes of its Chinese Communist Party's feeding of its artificial intelligence databases not only with PPI on Chinese citizens but also on US citizens, especially those with the highest of security clearances.

Western New York (WNY) is the westernmost region of the U.S. state of New York. The eastern boundary of the region is not consistently defined by state agencies or those who call themselves “Western New Yorkers.” Almost all sources agree WNY includes the cities of Buffalo, Niagara Falls, Jamestown, and the surrounding suburbs, as well as the outlying rural areas of the Great Lakes lowlands and Niagara Frontier, and Chautauqua-Alleghany (or the western Southern Tier.) Most also place Rochester, the Genesee Valley and the western Finger Lakes within the region. Others describe these areas as being in a separate Finger Lakes region.

The State of New York sometimes defines the WNY region as including just five counties: Allegany, Cattaraugus, Chautauqua, Erie, and Niagara. The state’s Empire State Development Corporation and state health authorities have both mapped the region this way. And the state used this regional boundary to set policy during the COVID-19 Pandemic.

More commonly, WNY has been defined to include at least Genesee, Orleans, and Wyoming counties as well. Almost all descriptions of WNY in the Buffalo media market define it as this 8 county area. Most organizations that use WNY in their name including the WNY College Consortium, the WNY Genealogical Society, WNY PRISM, the Psychological Association of WNY, and the WNY Land Conservancy describe themselves as working in these 8 counties.

Others, such as Clarion Publications, the publisher of the WNY Travel Guide and WesternNY.com, have used the term Western New York to describe a much larger area consisting of 17 counties. In addition to those counties mentioned, they add Chemung, Livingston, Monroe, Ontario, Schuyler, Seneca, Steuben, Wayne, and Yates as well.

The rest of this article uses that definition. The 17 counties have a land area of 11,764 square miles (30,470 km2). They include the area of the Holland Purchase and the Phelps and Gorham Purchase.

The area is primarily served by Buffalo and Rochester media markets, although there is considerable overlap between these two markets, as well as other American and Canadian media markets (particularly from nearby Toronto). In terms of the combined statistical areas used by the United States Census Bureau, Western New York consists of the Buffalo-Cheektowaga-Olean, NY area, the Rochester-Batavia-Seneca Falls, NY area, and the Elmira-Corning, NY area.

Western New York is in some contexts considered a sub-region of "Upstate New York" (when that term is used to describe all of New York State outside Long Island and the New York City metropolitan area); in most cases however, New Yorkers identify by specific regionalities such as Western New York or Central New York over vaguer terms such as Upstate New York.

The Yangtze or Yangzi (English: or ) is the longest river in Asia, the third-longest in the world and the longest in the world to flow entirely within one country. It rises at Jari Hill in the Tanggula Mountains (Tibetan Plateau) and flows 6,300 km (3,900 mi) in a generally easterly direction to the East China Sea. The Yangtze has played a major role in the history, culture and economy of China. Some sections of the river are now protected as nature reserves. A stretch of the upstream Yangtze flowing through deep gorges in western Yunnan is part of the Three Parallel Rivers of Yunnan Protected Areas, a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
