The Lone Star Hiking Trail (LSHT) is a 96 mile long hiking trail with an additional 32 miles of loop and crossover trails of footpath-only trails. Connecting public lands of the Sam Houston National Forest and private lands it is the longest continuous hiking trail in the State of Texas. The trail starts just South of Richards, Texas and ends North-West of Cleveland, Texas.

The LSHT was conceived by the Lone Star Chapter of the Sierra Club in 1966. The U.S. Forest Service (USFS) approved construction of the trail and flagging began in 1967, with the first 30 miles constructed in 1968. The Sierra Club, Boy Scouts of America, and many others were responsible for flagging and construction of the LSHT. The entire LSHT was completed and turned over to the USFS in 1972. An extension to the LSHT was approved later and completed in 1978.

The trail is marked with two-inch by four-inch aluminum markers to guide hikers. The Lone Star Hiking Trail may be hiked year round, but winter and spring are the most popular seasons due to the mild southeast Texas climate. During deer hunting season in November and December, hikers should wear highly visible clothing. Primitive camping is allowed off the trail except during deer hunting season when camping is restricted to designated camps. Usually the trail is not crowded, and hikers may observe a multiple-use managed forest with many ages and kinds of trees, plants and wildlife. Trail visitors may also view rivers, creeks, lakes and streams that meander through and around the Sam Houston National Forest. Off-road vehicles are prohibited. Potable water is available at Double Lake and Stubblefield recreation areas.

Teddington Pools and Fitness Centre is a public swimming pool and fitness centre owned and operated by the London Borough of Richmond upon Thames located in Vicarage Road, off the A313, in Teddington.

Originally built as a lido pool in 1931, it was closed in 1976 and rebuilt as an indoor facility in 1978.

The building includes a six-lane 25 metre pool, a learner pool, and a 9.5 metres (10.4 yd) by 5 metres (5.5 yd) deck level hydrotherapy pool. Other facilities include a gym and studio space.

The FIFI Wild Cup was an alternative FIFA World Cup which was held from 29 May to 3 June 2006 in Germany, prior to the official FIFA World Cup one week later. It was run by Federation of International Football Independents (FIFI).

FIFI was a body made up of countries not recognized by FIFA and those whose logistics preclude them from playing representative football. The Millerntor-Stadion in Hamburg hosted all the tournament matches. The tournament was sponsored by an online gambling consortium. Hosted in the Hamburg borough of St. Pauli, Germany, this tournament enabled disputed political entities to play in international competition.

According to organizer Jorg Pommeranz, FIFI had to overcome various obstacles namely China and FIFA applying pressure to exclude Tibet, as well as visas for the players of Northern Cypriot to enter Germany. The tournament winners were the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus. Spectator attendance was reported as “relatively weak” in June 2006, with an average of four hundred fans, thus a second version was deemed unlikely.

The Western Water Polo Association (WWPA) is a single sport intercollegiate college athletic conference sponsoring men's and women's water polo. The WWPA is affiliated with the NCAA, and includes 15 member institutions, mostly in California, with one institution each in Colorado, Illinois, and West Virginia and two in Erie, Pennsylvania. The league has eight teams in its men's league and nine in its women's league, with only Fresno Pacific and UC San Diego fielding teams for both sexes in the WWPA. The three easternmost schools, Gannon, Mercyhurst, and Salem, also field teams for both men and women, but only the women's teams are in the WWPA, with the men's teams instead playing in the Collegiate Water Polo Association.
