The United States Air Force Physical Fitness Assessment (PFA) is designed to test the body composition, muscular strength/endurance, and cardiovascular respiratory fitness of airmen in the United States Air Force. Fenway Sports Group Holdings, LLC (FSG), is the ultimate parent company of Major League Baseball's Boston Red Sox and Liverpool F.C., a Premier League Football team.

FSG was founded in 2001 as New England Sports Ventures (NESV) when John W. Henry joined forces with Tom Werner, Les Otten, The New York Times Company, and other investors to successfully bid for the Red Sox. NESV formally announced its name change to Fenway Sports Group in March 2011.

In addition to owning the Red Sox and Liverpool F.C., the Boston-based limited liability company also owns the home stadiums for both teams (Fenway Park and Anfield) and Fenway Sports Management (which in turn owns the Salem Red Sox a Low-A East minor league baseball franchise), plus 80% of the New England Sports Network (NESN) and 50% of Roush Fenway Racing, with cars entered (as of the 2021 season) in the NASCAR Cup Series racing competition.

In doing so, FSG sought to emulate elements of the North American sports model, creating a competition with strictly limited entry beyond a proposed fifteen total founding member clubs and appearing to largely eliminate the European system of meritocratic promotion and relegation. Principal owner John W. Henry later issued an apology in which he took sole responsibility for the club's involvement in the venture, which subsequently collapsed.

The Central Motorcycle Roadracing Association, CMRA for short, is an amateur level motorcycle racing league that holds races and rider schools in the south central region of the United States. It is one of the most active motorcycle racing clubs in America.

The CMRA is a non-profit organization with approximately 800 members. It is managed by a seven-member Board of Directors, half of whom are elected each year to a two-year term by a vote of the full membership.

To race in the series, a rider must have passed an accredited racing school and purchased a racing license. CMRA offers a Rider's School that is taught on Friday of every race weekend race. The main purpose of the school is to prepare newcomers for their first race. Motorcycle riders who don't wish to race often take the course to improve their skills and receive their licenses which enables them to rent local race tracks for personal use. The School on Friday is run in conjunction with either a CMRA or Lone Star Track Days open practice day.

The CMRA also welcomes volunteers to help with corner working on race weekends.

CMRA, once known as CRRC (Central Road Racing Club), has had more motorcycle roadracing champions (National and International) than any other road racing club in the world.

The Western Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association (WILA) was a National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Division II lacrosse-only college athletic conference composed of schools located in the Western United States. All schools are members of other conferences in other sports. WILA was formed at the beginning of the 2010–2011 academic year in order to name a champion (which does not involve a tournament), players of the week, and an all-league team at the end of the season. With no automatic qualifiers (AQ) currently in NCAA Division II men's lacrosse, conferences play a different role than in Division III.

The WILA is a loose confederation that not only assures games for its members, but also hopes to act as a catalyst for other NCAA Division II institutions looking to make a move to varsity lacrosse and eyeing stability. "It's what you need to do in non-traditional areas," said Notre Dame de Namur men's lacrosse coach Steve Dini. The WILA schedule features home-and-home contests with all schools. The 2010–2011 season included Adams State, Fort Lewis, Colorado Mesa and Regis competing in women's lacrosse, while Adams State, Dominican, Grand Canyon, Colorado Mesa and Notre Dame de Namur competed in men's lacrosse.

Lindenwood University joins the conference beginning with the 2011–2012 academic year with both men's and women's teams. They replaced Grand Canyon University, which left the conference at the end of the 2010–2011 season, after the university announced that their program would compete at the club level in the Men's Collegiate Lacrosse Association. The WILA concluded its second season in April 2012. Colorado Mesa won the association's men's championship with a conference record of 6-2; the championship was the first for Colorado Mesa in the program's second year of NCAA lacrosse competition. On the women's side, Lindenwood won the 2012 WILA women's lacrosse championship in the program's first season of NCAA competition. The Lady Lions recorded an 8-0 conference record en route to the title. The season saw additional membership changes when Lindenwood announced its men's program would join the new ECAC Division II Lacrosse League starting in the 2012–2013 academic year. The announcement was followed a week later by the addition of McKendree University's new women's lacrosse program starting in the 2012–2013 academic year.

Men's lacrosse was added as an official Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference sport starting in the 2015–2016 school year, essentially absorbing the WILA. Adams State, Colorado Mesa, and Colorado State–Pueblo are full members of the RMAC and is joined by Rockhurst as an affiliate member.

The American Flag Football League is a semi-professional flag football league started in 2017. The league was founded by Jeff Lewis in May 2017. Lewis spent nine months building the league, getting investors, setting the rules, and finding players and broadcasting partners. The league has signed a deal to air its games on the NFL Network.

The Metropolitan Boston Hockey League was a youth hockey league founded March 31, 1977, and incorporated in Massachusetts in August 1979.

The MBHL was unique in youth hockey. The MBHL was classified as an "AAA" or "Tier I" league, but did not have a ranked team in the top 50 "AAA" nationally in its last several years. However, Assebet Valley had been on the fringe of these rankings several times over the past decade. Within the league, modified NCAA rules were played, the same as in U.S. college hockey. Slapshots and body checking were allowed at all age levels. MBHL league play began the first weekend after Labor Day and winded up with playoffs in late March of the following year. No other Minor hockey organization in North America—or the world, permitted body checking or slapshots at the Mite & Squirt/Novice & Atom levels.

Upon the league's discontinuation after the end of the 2008-2009 season, most remaining teams transferred to the New England Hockey League, which has since been split into the Boston Hockey League and the Elite 9 Hockey League.
