Liga de Béisbol Profesional Roberto Clemente (LBPRC) is the main professional baseball league in Puerto Rico; it is colloquially referred to as the Puerto Rican Winter League. Consisting of seven teams as of the 2020–21 season, the league's champion participates in the Caribbean Series.

The league was founded as Liga de Béisbol Profesional de Puerto Rico in 1938. In 2007, the league suspended operations for the first time since its creation; it resumed operations in 2008 after restructuring and changing its name to Puerto Rico Baseball League (PRBL). In May 2012, the league debuted its current name, choosing to honor Baseball Hall of Fame inductee Roberto Clemente by naming it after him and adopting his philosophy of athletic development.

The Lowe Alpine Mountain Marathon (or LAMM) is a two-day fell running and orienteering race held in the Scottish Highlands each June. Teams of two run and navigate over mountainous terrain, carrying all their gear for an overnight wild camp. LAMM has six classes of competition: Elite, A, B, C, D and Score. Over the two days, the elite competitors complete a course of approximately 70 km with 4000m of ascent over challenging terrain.

The event location is kept secret until 48 hours before the start, and competitors do not know where the route will take them until they cross the start line. Teams are then given a series of grid reference checkpoints which they must navigate to and choose a route between.

LAMM is often considered to be the smaller cousin of the Karrimor International Mountain Marathon, the original event of this kind. Unlike KIMM, competition for places is not so fierce on LAMM and most who apply get a place first time. LAMM calls itself the Connoisseurs Mountain Marathon, and is celebrated amongst competitors for its unexpected twists and impeccable logistical organisation. Since the first event in Arrochar in 1994, the event has seen a steady increase in numbers, with over 550 teams entering in 2005.

The organiser of LAMM, Martin Stone is himself an elite fell runner. Notable competitors include Sir Ranulph Fiennes.

Kitchener and District Soccer League is a competitive Canadian men's football (soccer) league based out of southern Ontario, Canada.

The league has been in operation as the KDSL since 1975. Historically the league has operated with a first/premier division and a second division. As of 2018, only one 9 team premier division competes for a KDSL title and there hasn't been a second (or lower division) since the 2010 season. In 2017, the KDSL welcomed their first women's premier division.

There is also a cup tournament called the Da Silva Cup. In previous decades, the cup was named after the chief sponsor of the tournament - the Molson Cup. It was also called the KDSL Cup. Some teams also participate in the Ontario Cup with the only Ontario winner coming in 1981 when the Greek backed KW Olympics or "big blue machine" collected the honours. The league champion also has the option of joining the Ontario Soccer League (OSL).

Most teams are located within or around Kitchener, Ontario as well as other nearby cities such as Stratford, Cambridge, Guelph, and other smaller towns from the area. Playoffs at the end of the season determine the champion of the league. The top 8 teams qualify for the playoffs.

Historically daily newspapers like the Waterloo Region Record and Cambridge Reporter had very good coverage of the league. This continued into the 1990s at which point it appears budget cuts at these daily newspapers took KDSL reporting off their pages possibly due to the common problem of the internet impact on the print media. Many feel that losing this type of print media reporting diminished public interest in the leagues. In particular, many of the long-running ethnic clubs had a significant older generation supporter base that followed the league in this manner.

Current Romanian backed Banat SFC traces an existence in the league dating back to the 1970s, however there was a number of years in which they had folded or left the league, returning about a decade or so later. The loss of teams from three of the four Portuguese clubs in Kitchener and Cambridge in the 1990s (Leoe's, Oriental, and Torreense) seemed to signal a downturn in the league from its ethnic powered heyday in the 1970s and 1980s. Newer ethnic clubs that have taken the place of those in the previous era did not have the same community support, while non-ethnic clubs have always struggled to maintain long runs in the league. The longest consecutive streak in the league would belong to former participant Hrvat, which was in the top flight for 34 consecutive years, a figure which rises to 46 consecutive years if you account for its formation from the merger of the two Croatian clubs Croatia and Zagreb which were formed in the early 1970s.

Dale Earnhardt, Inc. (DEI) was a race team founded by Dale Earnhardt and his wife, Teresa Earnhardt, to compete in the NASCAR series, the highest level of competition for professional stock car racing in the United States. From 1998 to 2009, the company operated as a NASCAR-related organization in Mooresville, North Carolina, United States. Earnhardt was a seven-time Winston Cup champion. He died in a crash on the final lap of the 2001 Daytona 500. Despite his ownership of the DEI racing team, Earnhardt never drove for his team in the Winston Cup; instead, he raced for his long-time mentor and backer Richard Childress at RCR. The House of God is a satirical novel by Samuel Shem (a pseudonym used by psychiatrist Stephen Bergman), published in 1978. The National Physique Committee (NPC) is the largest amateur bodybuilding organization in the United States. Amateur bodybuilders compete in competitions from local to national competitions sanctioned by the NPC. The NPC is the only amateur organization recognized by the IFBB Pro League. The IFBB Professional League is the professional league for bodybuilding athletes and the sanctioning body for the world's largest professional contests such as the Mr. Olympia, Arnold Sports Festival, and Legion Sports Fest. In order to become an IFBB professional athlete an athlete must compete at an IFBB Pro Qualifier such as the NPC Nationals Championship, NPC USA Championship, any other pro qualifier.
